Coventry’s urban airport

Oct 11, 2021 | 0 comments

In January 2021 it was reported that a pop up urban airport to showcase flying cars and drones was planned to open in Coventry before the end of 2021. The zero emission hub called Air One is to be located close to the Ricoh Arena in the north of the city. It is being developed by London based infrastructure company Urban Air Port with funding from the Government and Hyundai of £2.4m. The hub is designed to show how flying cars and cargo drones could be integrated into urban environments. The facility will provide space for take-off, landing, loading and servicing with an elevated take-off platform to reduce noise levels.
