The use of drones in the agricultural industry is growing steadily as part of an effective approach to sustainable farming. Crop monitoring by drones and using that data to plan and make improvements has increased as it is a more efficient use of resources than the traditional visual inspection by humans.

Agricultural drones are becoming big business with farming commentator Benjamin Pinguet predicting the world market in 2021 at US$32.4 billion.
